The latest in Sid Meier’s history simulating Civilization franchise, Civilization World, opened a public beta today through the game’s Facebook page and is set to be free-to-play. First announced in 2009, the game takes the cartoon style graphics of Civilization Revolution but with the in-depth gameplay the franchise is known for.
Meier, designer of all things Civilization, has promised the Facebook version will have “everything you enjoy in Civ in a fully persistent environment – you can play as much as you like, whenever you like, and it’ll be free to play.”
