This is one of my favorite strategies to win in Starcraft 2, bar none. I absolutely love pulling this strategy off, and I have to say modestly, my success with it is quite good.
Now I start out slow, I get about fourteen Drones the Spawning. This is a mineral economy build, I'm not looking to rush. I'm looking to get a second Hatchery in my base, and back myself up with a whole lot of Zerglings as I evolve my Hatchery, skip the Roach Den/Baneling Nest these are wastes.
The goal of this strategy is to control the map with Zerglings, use their speed upgrade and then don't let the opponent/opponents expand. Harass them, try and catch some of their units off guard. Run you Zerglings straight to their mineral lines if they leave their base, make yourself as much of a nuisance as you can, it's what I love about being Zerg the most.
So you have this going no, then I like to put up a Spire. Now I don't even go Mutalisks most times, but I've always enjoyed having a Spire up in case I need air units. Don't underestimate Zerg air.
So I throw this Spire up. Another tricky thing about throwing up a Spire is if an opponent sees it, he starts building anti-air, even though I'm not making use of it. Instead I like to go straight to Hive, and upgrade my Zerglings as much as possible. I also morph an Overlord into an Overseer and build a Nydus Canal.
Then the strategy is as easy as gaining vision and growing Nydus Canals all over the map. Then you just start sending Speedlings (upgraded Zerglings), and eventually Anabolic Lings all around the map (second Zergling upgrade). I also upgrade the Zerglings attack and defense, this is really important when you are dealing with a lot of units.
