Starcraft 2 - 3 Strategic Tips For a Beginner

I think if I was a complete beginner to Starcraft 2, their are a few tips I'd like to have known before I started. These are going to be foundations for playing the game, that it took me personally many games to understand. Hopefully by telling you here and now, I can save you that time. So let's get into it.

Tip #1) Always use a worker to scout out the opponent. Don't get lazy. Seems very obvious, but you'd be surprised how many players beginners don't do this. You might ask, what is the importance of scouting? Scouting is to give you knowledge of your opponent. This knowledge is worth a lot more than the say, 200 minerals over time that worker would have mined for you.

Tip #2) Avoid fights unless you are sure you can win, or have no other option. This is such a key point that so many players overlook. I have a good buddy who is a macro champion, I mean he is top in the Diamond league for solo, yet he loves to fight close battles. Fighting close battles is a lot of fun, but it is also a risk. Eliminate as much risk as possible to guarantee yourself victory.

Tip #3) Don't panic. This one is simple, yet incredibly difficult. Until you literally and obviously have no chance to win, please pretend like you are winning. Up until you decide to leave, pretend like you are winning. Never for a second think you are going to lose, I call this give-up syndrome. It happens to the best players. If someone starts blaming you for the loss, they have given up. don't bicker with them, ignore it, and keep on pretending you'll win. This advice has proven invaluable to my personal growth as a gamer, specifically for Starcraft 2.

Also, if you're a beginner, be sure to look into a Starcraft 2 strategy guide, these things save you a lot of time! I personally review each guide, and I would like to help you decide which one is best.
