Protoss Verses Terran in Starcraft 2, Dealing With Mass Siege Tanks

Comments (0)

Lots of Terran players go mass Siege Tanks against a Protoss player. They back it up with Marines, Marauders, and Medivacs, the tripple M Terran threat.

This can be very difficult to deal with as Protoss. Going air isn't going to help you kill the tanks very much because of the Marines, and then later probably Vikings.

This is one situation where Void Rays aren't your best bet. If you do go Void Rays be sure you get their speed upgrade.

It can be hard dealing with a Terran in this situation, especially if you decide to camp your base. Once the Terran player is Sieged up, if you aren't out in the open you won't be able to kill off his tanks.

Now you don't want Zealots and Stalkers, I think you want Immortals and Sentries, maybe even some High Templars. Psionic Storm will rip up Stim Packed Marines, it can even rip up Siege Tanks and Marauders!

Use that in conjunction with Immortals soaking up Siege Tank damage like it was nothing (at least while they have shields left). The Sentries also help slow down the intake of damage from the entirely ranged Terran force, so as you can guess Sentries are important as well!

Now we have discussed using Immortals and Sentries as a counter to a Terran Siege Tank army, and this works great. Throw in some Psionic Storm and I think you are giving yourself great odds. Dark Templars can work great, but you have to have awesome micro, because the Terran player can and will scan all over the map.

An idea with Dark Templars, that I'll try out soon, is to kill the Command Center right away! Leaving the Terran player unable to scan, you know these things are so obvious once you think of them.

Oh well I'm still a bit of a Protoss noob, this is the only game you have to be a noob three times if you want to be good!

Seriously do yourself a favor, save a ton of time and check out these Starcraft2 guide reviews.

I take a lot of pride in my reviews, you'll be getting my honest opinion, no bs.

I offer a Starcraft 2 email newsletter too, but it's probably no good.
