Decide the music for the montage.
To go with the mood of your montage, your music should be a unique and exciting play list.

Using a Video Editing Software, Organize clips.
You should not just randomly put your clips in order. It should correspond with the music. Climax of Music, Climax of Clips. If the music slows, you should have your clip show this visually in a unique and personal way.

Be Creative.
Do your thing. Put effects on the clips, whatever you feel. It should not suffer to the social conformity. No one else has to think it is good. It is art.

This could be a quick step, or a very long one. Watch the video through and decide if you are happy with it. If you are, great. If not, you may have to go back to the parts you are unhappy with and fix accordingly.
