Battlefield 3 not aiming to be controversial

Remember that “No Russian” level in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the one where you could slaughter innocent airport-goers? Battlefield 3 won’t have anything like that, according to comments made by a DICE exec.

“We’re not trying to base it on any political or religious conflict – controversy is probably a good marketing tool, but we make games,” DICE’s Patrick Bach told Edge. “Our goal isn’t to make controversy. I don’t want people to feel bad playing our game.”

Battlefield 3 is due out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in October.
